Liposuction

Breast Surgery

Liposuction can be an effective way to remove excess subcutaneous fat from parts of the body. It can also help to reshape your body contours to provide more definition and a more attractive physique. clients who are in good physical health but find that they have isolated areas of excess fat that just can’t be shifted, or, who want to refine specific areas of their body with a more sculpted contour make ideal candidates for this procedure.

Liposuction involves inserting small hollow tubes known as cannulas into the patient’s fatty deposits via small inconspicuous incisions. The fat is then literally sucked out of the localized region. During traditional liposuction, fat is sucked out using a specialized vacuum as the surgeon carefully uses the cannula to break up the fat layer. Liposuction can be used on many parts of the body and its most successful application is to provide more attractive contours, rather than for simple fat removal.

In fact, liposuction should never be considered as an alternative to weight loss via exercise and a healthy, balanced diet. Aggressive liposuction can have unwanted side effects such as “cobblestoning”, a condition in which too much fat is removed and the skin loses some of its firmness.

Dr. Belsley’s first priority during any surgical procedure is always your health and well-being. If you are considering liposuction she will be able to help you set realistic expectations and goals so that you can avoid this type of mistake. Used properly, liposuction can yield amazing results by subtly recontouring the shape of your face, arms, waist and hips.

Liposuction can also help refine heaviness in those areas that are not responsive to diet and exercise such as saddlebags, love handles or a double chin. Liposuction can be carried out alone, or in tandem with other procedures including the body lift and facial surgeries and is applied to most areas of the body including the face, arms, waist, abdomen, back, hips, buttocks and legs.

Ultrasonic Liposuction

Breast Surgery

Ultrasonic liposuction is a type of assisted liposuction developed to be less damaging and in some respects, more effective, than traditional liposuction methods. As an added benefit to this technique, the use of ultrasound also helps to tighten the skin and reduce the appearance of cellulite as the area underneath decreases in size.

Ultrasonic liposuction uses high frequency ultrasonic waves to literally melt the fat before it is sucked out. The sound waves literally burst the targeted fat cells, making them much easier to removeand decreasing the amount of tissue damage and the overall invasiveness of the procedure. Ultrasonic liposuction is ideal for more fibrous parts of the body such as the arms, legs and male breasts.

There are two basic types of ultrasonic liposuction – external and internal so named because of the method in which the ultrasound frequency is applied to the body. Internal ultrasonic liposuction uses specialized cannulas that transmit ultrasonic waves to the localized area, liquefying the fat cells as they are sucked out. During external ultrasonic liposuction, pulsed ultrasonic waves are applied to the body externally before the cannulas are inserted to remove the emulsified fat cells. Each of the methods of ultrasonic liposuction is most suited to specific areas of the body. Internal ultrasonic liposuction works well on areas that may be difficult to reach by traditional methods such as the inner thigh and chin, while external ultrasonic liposuction is employed on wider areas for example love handles.

Because it reduces the amount of incidental tissue damage, ultrasonic liposuction is often a preferred method for liposuction. As with any surgery, ultrasonic liposuction has both risks and benefits, which Dr. Belsley will talk through with you in detail during a face-to-face consultation. While Ultrasonic liposuction can be used to safely remove larger and/or denser volumes of localized fat it should never replace non-surgical methods of maintaining weight. Liposuction is an ideal method for clients who have are close to their ideal body mass but need help to reduce bulk in those areas that are unresponsive to diet and exercise.

Like traditional liposuction, ultrasonic liposuction achieves the best results when employed to recontour the shape of the body. Ultrasonic liposuction can be applied to many areas of the body including the face, arms, male chest, abdomen, back, hips, buttocks and legs.

The abdominal area is a notoriously difficult area to keep toned and taught. Pregnancy, weight loss, heredity and aging   can all result in sagging skin. For many people rigorous diet and exercise simply cannot improve the appearance of this area and surgery can become the best option.

A lot of women who have undergone childbirth find the tummy tuck a great source of positive affirmation in their personal lives allowing them to continue to enjoy their roles both as mothers and, as vital attractive women.

It can also help boost self-confidence in people who have attained their personal weight loss goals only to be confronted by folds [Pullout: ] of unattractive loose skin. The procedure itself can employ a number of techniques depending on the amount of skin and tissue to be removed.

Breast Surgery

The upper arms typically lose a lot of tone during your 40's and women, even those who exercise regularly, may still find that the shape of their lacks firmness.

Most commonly performed to reduce these visible signs of aging, the arm lift or brachioplasty removes excess skin in the area located between the underarm and the elbow.

The objective of the arm lift is to reshape the arm and give the patient smoother skin and more clearly defined contours.

A brachioplasty can be performed using multiple techniques depending on the amount of excess skin and tissue to be removed.

Incisions may be made in the armpit and/or along the length of the arm. In the latter case Dr. Belsley will typically try to make the incision along the inner surface to reduce its visibility as much as possible.

Excess fat and sagging skin in the thigh and buttock area is a very common complaint, particularly for clients in their 40's and beyond. clients who have experienced multiple pregnancies or other significant fluctuations in weight may find that over time the skin has lost its elasticity and fails to bounce back.

The lower body lift is a tailored approach to removing and reshapingthe area around the upper thigh and buttock to create a more youthful contour with a smoother, tighter appearance. Performed in stages, this procedure typically involves multiple incisions over the hips from back to front as well as at the top of the thighs. Excess fat and tissue is removed and skin is repositioned and tightened to improve the overall appearance.

The lower body lift is commonly performed in conjunction with the tummy tuck to improve the appearance of the whole lower body from the waist down to, and including the inner thigh. As with all body surgeries, the lower body lift should not be used to replace diet and exercise but to improve the body’s appearance in concert with a healthy lifestyle.
